a little help please

Hey how are you guys doing? I am new to this site and found it while I was searching for places to take my son metal detecting. I just bought him a metal detector for his birthday, and we have been out the past 2 weekends. The only things we have found have been pop cans, tabs and bottle caps. I do not want him to give up on this wonderful hobby since that is the only thing he wanted for his 5th birthday. We live in De pere, WI and any help with a OK site would be greatly appreciated.

Are you members of a church? The back lawn (especially if there have been socials and oicnics in the past) is always a good bet. Any town or park where there are carnivals or concerts. Beaches of lakes. School playgrounds (ask first!) Do some research and find out if any circuses stopped in your area.

Think of any spot someone whould have had the need to reach in their purse or pocket.

Yea we have hunted a church here in town and alot of parks and playgrounds, but really having no luck.

If yer pulling a lot of crap, keep going, the goodies are right there.

Take it slow, when you are MDing, and listen to your detector. Learn the tones by practicing with different objects, bury them at different depths. And don't forget to fill your hole as if nobody even has dug there. Good Luck!

That is exactly what I was thinking so went out and got a few merc dimes and a 1921 morgan silver dollar
