Got in a couple hours this afternoon at Druid Hill Park in Baltimore and found a little 'hot spot' on a hillside that yielded some treasures: a large men's pewter ring,

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Very nice hot spot at that. The area holds some age and your finds show it. Nice I.H's and pewter ring. Crossed swords is kinda strange but back then many people were offered fencing in school.( foil.epee and sabre). Might have been a club ring?

Thanks Randy. Good to get out and swing for a couple hours. Dug my share of square nails.

Thanks Tnmountains. Good thoughts on ring's origin and meaning. Swords down could signify end of conflict or battle over; perhaps this was worn by a vet?

Nice finds..
And especially well blessed on cnoc an draoi...

Glad you got to get out nice coins that ring is cool hope you can ID it. Well done my friend.

That pewter ring is fantastic. How awesome. Congrats!!

Thanks AstralDruid. No scree field on this hillside......not crib goch-like.

Thanks Tommy. The ring was dropped this year. Everything else was down 8 inches.

Thanks Tuberale. Nope, it's an 1881 and "full liberty" too.

Thanks washingtonian. I haven't acid-tested it yet and I may be off in the density I measured. It looks like a custom job to me.

Excellent finds. Nice little hot spot indeed. Congrats!

Nice!! I love me some IHP’s and that ring is killer!! Great job brother!

Very cool ring, congrats!
