I got out this morning and fought clouds of mosquitos, forgot the spray! Hunted a pounded park for two hours till I could no longer stand it the bugs. Couple 40's Wheaties and '39 S merc and no nails!

When I got home I snapped a few pics of a wayward hen pheasant that's been hanging out with the chickens. My boy and I were able to get within a couple feet of her, and she seems tame.

Nice finds. Wont be long and them pesky skeeters will get frosted!!!

The pheasant moved into the chicken coop and was eating their feed. Totally unlike a wild bird. I had to grab it and toss it back out of the coop into the yard...noticed a hawk hanging around earlier today. I'm afraid a bird that acts like that won't be around very long. Hope it survives.

Dad has a partridge claiming his yard. It will chase him on the mower and the neighbors cats leave it alone. When I stopped to visit it was hanging out by the front slider door like he (we guess she) owned the joint.:dontknow:

Nice score on the Merc D!! She is a beauty! Congrats on the Wheaties too. Nice pics man - maybe that pheasant thinks he is a chicken lol :laughing7:

WTG on the silver! Maybe she was raised nearby?

Congrats on the Merc and wheats, D. :icon_thumright: Nice Barred Rocks, too.

My neighbor raised some pheasants once and they were pretty slow in the "act wild to survive" department too. I doubt they lasted long either.

HH
p.s. And are those Black Australorps in the background?

nice score on that merc D! wheats too, kinda red looking, I'm guessing Rives :) Maybe you should just welcome that pheasant into your life :) I'll never forget you coming over unknowingly with a stowaway chicken under your truck LOL All my neighbors in suburbia got a kick out of that, especially us trying to catch it.

Maybe you should just welcome that pheasant into your life :)
Well, I thought about it, especially her wrapped in bacon and with a little garlic and olive oil...:laughing7:
Got the merc in a park to the west of Jackson, you, Brentallica and I hunted earlier this year..
