A nightime hunt yields a perfect White Quartz Yadkin!

The recent rain here has cleared the top layer away from the trails near my home. This is a beautiful Yadkin with no breaks. That seems to be rare around here as I have found about six Yadkins and all but two are without broken tips or worse.

Yes, I do remember the Rose quartz Yadkin you found, its a beauty. We should start a Quartz ONLY thread. Here is my triangle, I was devestated it had the tip missin, I searched so hard for one, only ever found one quartz. Also here is my biggest & best quartz point.
Matt told me to hunt quartz an hour before dusk (magic hour), you see the suns lower & all the quartz shines. Best advice I ever had, reguarding hunting. I miss hunting in NC/VA, I just can't get used to hunting here in FLA. I miss those RED clayed plowed fields.
You're right, its so easy to find milky/trans quartz against soil.

I was using a flashlight and was actually more on a Charlie walk than a hunt. But you know the deal.... I can't go anywhere anymore without looking down and studying the ground for signs of s point. This baby was standing out as bright as a diamond under a light! This trail is not one that is walked on that often but I am still very lucky. The very next person to have walked it could not have missed this point. It was litterally in the middle of the trail in full view! This weekend, I will be all over that spot in the daylight. In fact, Charlie and I JUST got back from the spot again.... and again with a flashlight but nothing else in view. Thanks for looking brother and I hope all is well.

I've done a couple night hunts with my headlamp. It's tough hunting to say the least. The quartz will shine though , you're right. I did find a point and a couple uniface flake tools after 3 hours, went back in the morning and couldn't believe what I missed. Later on bro

Nice triangle Molly, that's high grade quartz it looks like. It's unreal how much quartz and flint becomes visible during that ' magic hour '. That low sideways light from the sun really makes it jump out. I think a quartz thread would be interesting.
