Hello, Here is a photo that I just received in an email and it is too good not to pass it along for more to see.

The email's description of the photo is as follows.......

Talk about a photo being worth a thousand words...

This is one of the most emotion-evoking photos I've ever seen.

Taken at the National Cemetery in Minneapolis on a June morning as it appeared in the Minneapolis Star/Tribune.

This should become an official Memorial Day, 4th of July and/or Veterans Day rememberance photo.

Our Symbol Standing Guard.

I've seen this photo about 6 months ago. This photo won some sort of a prestigious award....can't remember which one. Undoubtedly, this photo was one of the best i have ever seen. (Just read the photo's explanation....I saw it in the Mpls paper in June....I live in Minn.)

This photo looks great, but judging from the halo around the eagle, I would guess that it has been photoshopped. Frank

It does have that look of a set up deal. I thought the trees might be more leafed out in June, too. But forget all that, and even take away the eagle, it's still a powerful pic, to me anyway.

He said he may have put the eagle on a different headstone!!!! That's called photoshopping!!!
I do not mead to detract from his work. It's a good composition and most of the pictures today that have good composition have been photoshopped or posed rather than chance shots. I work with one of the photoshop programs. High end cameras record information that is manipulated in an editing program. It is common place to combine two or three images to get "the perfect shot". In fact most armature and professional cameras that are on the market now do this in the camera. It is called HDR.

Thank you to all of you for so many great replies. And a special thanks to you, Tee for taking the time to look up the whole
story and type it all up here. That was pretty considerate of you.

Yes, for sure.

Actually, Frankn, if you actually read what the man said, he said IF HE HAD PHOTOSHOPPED IT, he would have put it on another stone.

Maybe you should reread it. He stated he may have put the eagle on another stone to make the composition perfect. Frank

Don't care if it's real or not the symbolism is the same. Gave me goose bumps. I love it!!
Thanks Ray. Really means a lot considering today is Veterans Day. My Pop served in WWII and today holds a special day in my heart. God bless our Vets!!

pretty pic -- faked or not
sad we can fake so well nowadays.
While I say pretty, it is just that, pretty. means little since faked actually to me.

I see the eagle. What REALLY touches me is all the marble headstones... rows and rows of them, fading into the distance. Veterans, Patriots, those who served OUR Nation. May we never foget them.

This is Veterans Day and I posted this in honor of them so it shouldn't be picked apart, for whatever reason, Accept it as
it is. I appreciate and thank them for all they have done.

May God Bless all the Vets.

Robin

exactly.

why enhance?

no need.

if the eagle was truly there then that person got an extradorinary photo.

of course I feel it, I don't need a pic to make me feel it, probably faked as it is.

why does the basic reality of what transpired have to be enhanced? many people need it, I do not.

Thanks a million, Tee, for posting this. I really like this one.
