- Metal Detecting
I went back to the yard that produced the metal photo and the 37 mm Shell. Because of all of the iron and trash, I ran the E-Trac in 2 tone ferrous. Immediately I found several wheats.. A 1913D, 1918, 1918s, and a 1934D. I also recovered a worn 1902 Barber Dime and a 1905 Indian Head..
I found all of this on the side of the house. I moved into the back yard and immediately found two rabies tags.. One from 1940/1
and a 1949 Durant Dog tag.
Next came a part of a shoe horn that reads "Complements of Brookton, Mass. Stacy Adams and Co."
Then came this neat looking fob? It has a horse head inside a horseshoe, there is no writing to identify it.
The find of the day came a little after dark. I really didn't know what it said or what was on it, till I got home. After I started cleaning it, I realized I had found another WoW find for me..
The badge reads, "Confederate Reunion May 26-29, 1913. Chattanooga". On the top it has an eagle. On the top left is the United States Flag, on the right is the Confederate States Flag.
I am not sure of it's value, but a really neat find coming from a yard that, only several days before produced a Model of 1916 37mm shell casing and a metal photo that I think is a soldier in uniform.. Thanks for reading.
