A seated Dime and other goodies.

Merf · Apr 17, 2008

Greetings fellow T Netters.
The weather has been cooperating and have been hunting every chance I get.
Here are my recent finds. The clay marble is just over an inch in diameter.
The picture of the disc sticking out of the dirt is the token.
I think it is my shallowest find so far. LOL
The mangled spoon is thin silver.
Thanks for looking and best luck to all, Merf

very nice seated liberty dime! But where did you get that hand!!!

Did you chop it off someone? lol! Lets all hope you didn't.

Merf · Apr 18, 2008

Thanks Buckleboy and Detectingfreak.
DF-----The arm is off a porcelain doll----Popular in the 1800s.
I am amazed that it spent all that time in the field without getting broken.

Nice bunch of relics, Merf! Love the Indian heads, seated dime and horse token. I just found one of those older brass shell casings today in a woods hunt. Didn't realize what I had until I looked at it better at home. Sweet pics. Keep digging!

Thanks Ann-----That is the first long brass 10 guage that I found. I think from around 1895.

Thanks Paco and Dugholes

Beautiful finds, Merf

ringfinder · Jun 3, 2008

Merf, again, those are some great pictures. I always like the pictures with the target still in the ground. Doesn't get
any better than that.

I also like your background, now lets see, that platt map show's some real interesting places to hunt. LOL!!!!

Again, Thanks for the great post, sure wish I could come and help you hunt those fields sometime.

Awesome digs Merf!!! love that seated dime and Indian heads are what keeps me going these days...

nebstater · Jun 3, 2008

Hey Merf, excellent digs there. Glad that you didn't get the point from the item in your last pic. :icon_sunny:

Enjoyed the photos of the items just laying on or in the ground a little. The sitting lady is really nice, as are the indians. Keep checking that field! There's got to be a lot more where that came from. WTG

Thanks rtde3, Crazyjarhead, Ringfinder, Jerry, and Nebstater.
I hunted that field site 6 times and got most of it I think.
Hope to check it again after the harvest.
