A set stone with really cool artwork

Today I decided to switch coils and go back to a permission that is littered with iron and trash.
Considering how hard i have hit this property, i was very pleasantly surprised to find a couple wheat backs, a key and a little clad.


My big find of the day was this set stone. I have no idea what it is or how old it may be or if its a ring or pendent.
Here it is before cleaning.


After a little dish soap and toothbrush, this is what it looks like now.

Any info on the stone would be very helpful.

Interesting find! The craftsmanship is not up to par for Murano, but is very similar. Test the metal, and look for a makers mark inside the setting.

Looks to me to be a Victorian era setting, maybe a 'Poison' ring?

Thanks for your input Kentuck. I have no clue on craftsmanship or whether or not it is a Murano...i never even heard that name until last night. LOL i thought it was a painted stone thus the thread title. Whatever it is, i like it alot!
