I took a bunch of halves to my dump bank this morning and the machine shut down for a bag change after running about $200 worth of mine. I thought I saw silver when they changed it, so I ask about buying the bag. After the routine, "I'm not supposed to because the count may be off, blah, blah, blah," I convinced the manager to let me have it for $1,000. Long story short, it yielded 15 Walkers, 20 Bens and 5 '64 Kens.

Plus, I took a load of copper and aluminum to the scrap yard and got $66.00. I'll use it to purchase ASE's.

If I don't find silver it's not because I'm not looking!

Wow awesome negotiation skills!!!

Ive never gotten a bank to budge on their stance of not selling bags!

I dont believe ive found any bens from the 40's, thats a very nice score for sure! What was the oldest walker?

Nice scrap score too!

Wow that's awesome! They didn't give you grief for buying halves while dumping them? But I guess it was better so they didn't have to deal with them.

The oldest walker was a '37, but most of them were pretty worn. I got two '48 Bens (the oldest I've ever gotten). I also got two AU '58 Bens.

40 - 90%, wow! You must've been looking, as you found silver!

I was surprised that she let me have it, but it just goes to show that you don't know if you don't ask.

You'll be hard pressed to find a Frankie earlier than 1948. :laughing7:

Nice score.
