A silver thimble and 5 large coppers.-New pics added-Tumbled

Merf · May 16, 2008

Whoopy---I got the silver monkey off my back.
Hard to believe but I found the thimble first and then the five LCs . I can't read the dates on any of them yet but hope they will clean up. It was a five hour hunt.
It is an old farmstead site from the mid 1800s. I also found the IH with some local wildlife included in the pic.

I will be smiling all weekend :icon_sunny:

My best hunt for sure.

Thanks for looking and best luck to all. Merf

Re: A silver thimble and 5 large coppers.

WOW

They must have planted Large Cent seeds between the corn rows

That's great Merf..after you hit the 3rd one I'll bet you thought you'd bring home a couple dozen! I'll bet if you keep hitting that place like you've been you'll break a
record for most LC's in one field!

Thanks for sharing your AWESOME day with us!

Holy cow Merf. You are my hero. I'm serious!!!

I'm coming over there right now to kiss your shoes.

If you'd made it a 12 hour hunt, you'd have 12 large cents. Your average was one per hour. I declare you a metal detecting god. :tongue3:

Thanks Evolution , you are too kind.
I got permission to hunt the new spot and just got lucky. It was a shock to find all those LCs at one site.
Might have been a store or meeting place of some kind.
