Hi all. Nate and I have been pretty busy lately (No Doug, I haven't retired). Nate with Track, exams, school projects, prom and such. Me with supporting two teenagers, a wife, dog, 4 old cars and a place in the 'burbs. ;D Work has been busy too and I had to spend some time at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Nate and I did get in a couple hunts. Nate posted his stuff last week and he did better than me but I still got a few keepers.

The first hunt I did was at a one room school house foundation (solo about an hour).

Nate and I have hunted this place a couple times without finding anything good. We have talked with some other people who found some good coins but not us. But I thought I might try using the small 7.5” minelab coil and going slow. This proved to be the ticket as I dug out this sweet 1895 IH with two nails.

I usually don't get too excited about IH's but this is one of the nicest ones I have dug.

The next hunt I was with Nate. We went to a local park and worked the old sledding hill. There was a lot of trash but I managed to get some wheats and a 1937 Merc. So the IH satisfied my old coin itch and the merc the silver itch. :) The little heart shaped necklace I don't think is gold. It says “Marlene” on it.

The Saturn Rocket sovenier was not found but made by me with one of those machines on my trip to Kennedy. The trip was cool as we got to poke around the Space Shuttle Atlantis (actually inside the vehicle) and various other places at the Space Center.

Last but not least – Nate's Senior Prom was this last Saturday:

Good luck on all your hunts.

That coin has an incredibly beautiful green patina. I have yet to find a Indian cent. Great finds

Bob...I think that's probably the nicest dug injun' I've seen in my 30 years of diggin'. I've dug some sweet ones...but yours in nicer than any I've ever dug. Strange...but all my nicest ones popped out of the ground when using a small coil too...and usually with trash in the hole. Great digs. Nice picture of your boy too.

That IH looks like new---Great find Bob and that Merc is nice too

Looks like someone dropped that IH on the way home from the mint. ;D

Nice finds Mirage,

That indian is a really nice one. I love when they are nice and dark with no rim damage. It is rare to get them like that. Sounds like you been working hard lately.

Take care,

Jeremy

Man, that is a very nice IH, good job. I can see why Nate had other things to do.

Ah, Top of the Line Indian Head, I love the way it stands out in our photos, congrats on getting such a pretty one. I believe about 75% of my total finds have been with the Minelab 8" coil over the past 7+ years, it is a workhorse for sure.

Thanks all.

Yes, Nate's a good kid and we are proud of him (most of the time  ;D). He enjoyed the prom, after prom and the senior skip day.

Good finds, Bob! I've been to Kennedy a couple times; what an incredible place. Nothing like standing beside a Saturn V rocket, laying on its side.
