a thought about nails

of course you will pull up some nails...so i did a little research. Ever seen the old square nails? Apparently they were common up until about 1910, after that the "wire nails" came about, the round ones we use today. Might help you date a site. Here is one link

I have seen picture frames with square nails or old barb wire at numerous flea markets & antique shows. I also know of one furniture restorer who like small square nails. They can be something more than just trash targets. You are for sure on a good site when you find them. Spotz
