A Walking Detector ???

Can You Believe This ??

Carrying around a Metal Detector while wearing a big set of headphones isn’t exactly the coolest look for the beach this summer, they won’t get you very far very fast as you walk, but neither are these metal detecting sandals which I assume are meant to be a more subtle approach to finding buried treasure and at least you’ll keep busy.

The right sandal connects to a removable battery pack that’s strapped to your calf and a coil in the sandals does all the work. The detector can find metal objects buried as ‘deep’ as 2 feet underfoot, and it will alert you to their presence via a flashing red light, a gentle vibration and an audible buzz. A single 9V battery will give you about 6 hours of tresure hunting. And you can find it at Hammacher Schlemmer for $59.95.

What a GREAT idea for State Parks LOL !!!!! Want to buy one ? Here's the link:

Wow, kinda cool! :icon_profileleft:

I think someone posted the same thing elsewhere here on the forum.

I wonder if the magnetic field has any adverse effect on the foot?
Oh, well, if it finds a ring it's probably worth it. ;D

Re: A Walking Detector ???

Imagine this scenario. Your sigother wants you to take her
to the beach. OK then, beach = gold jewelry. She's not into
conventional detecting, she's into kooky. So you both grab
the sandals. Luckily you were thinking ahead and had obtained
toe-mounted digging claws.
You're at the beach, y'all are grooving to the beat of the waves.
Suddenly you feel the buzz. You and her do the 'Chicken'.
Sand is flying, she spots it before it hits, a 2ct diamond set in
18k yellooow. She's got one her 3-D killer sunglasses.
One down and mucho to go!
