got to talking to Jorge del Norte on this forum. We live pretty close, so we made plans to go out this morning. He took me to one of his spots. This is a children's bracelet and was found about 3 inches deep. It is stamped 14K MEX. This is my first good find that was not a clad coin, etc. I have only been at this since early November, so this is a rush!! I am enjoying this so much and am very grateful to Jorge for welcoming a newcomer to this hobby.

Nice find! Gold is always a rush no matter how long you have been detecting.
Kudo's to jorge as well for taking someone with him. Sadly, far too few folks are willing to 'buddy up' or share spots with someone else.

Really nice find.

I have found a very thin gold ring with my Ace250. It registered as foil. What did yours register as??

I found a child's gold ring registered as a pop top with my Ace250.

Congrats on the bracelet.

I took the ace out and bench tested it after cleaning and on first pass it read pull tab and second pass it read as foil. Thanks to everyone for the congrats and encouragement!!

Really nice bracelet. Good luck on future hunts.

Nice find benc2, I LOVE AU
Let me know if you have any questions pertaining to the ace 250`s readings, i may be able to help you eliminate the amount of trash you dig even though theres an awesome forum right here at treasurenet.

B|lker, i have a question..when i found this bracelet i was in jewelry mode.. you know that foil is notched out in this mode, but on my second pass it said foil...would i be wiser to be in relic mode which has only iron notched out? and im open to any suggestions you have on the ace 250..i mainly use it in jewelry mode but im thinking on my next hunt i will start out in relic mode. even though i will be coin shooting....i would not like to bypass any gold...
thanks
Ben C.

With my machine - DFX - if you don't dig foil or pull tabs, you won't dig gold. My last gold coin - 1841 Half Sovereign - registered a perfect 26 and a single bar on the signagraph. 3 times in a row. Also, if you don't find nickels, you are missing things. Just some hard learned stuff.

Daryl

Congrats on your find, Continued Success and Happy Hunting.

hello BioProfessor....you bring up an interesting thing about the nickel..jorge del norte and i talked about this subject after our hunt....do you have any suggestions on what im doing wrong because since i have been detecting i have found 13 quarters , 12 nickels, 128 pennies, and 24 dimes
