ACE 350 on order!!!!

I returned my bounty hunter. I decided it wasn't a good enough machine, and after calling their customer service - bottom line was I could put a few pennies down and it would see 2 out of 3 of them- so I fired it cause it didn't do it's job, most likely it was due to the AT style coil plug being loose. I wanted to call them on their 800# and left them a msg with out them really coming back and attempting to help me- so I was still in my 90 days at the sporting goods place where I bought it- so I just returned it. and then ordered a new ACE 350 from Kellyco. where else can you call them and talk to a live person in the USA! no voice mail. I'm looking forward to getting it and seeing how it works- but I've also read enough to know it's a good detector. Any words of advice on handling, use, and pitfalls things it will and will not do....how deep it will work?

would an Ace 350 stand up to a backpacking trip? I know of some places that are a distance away, and by foot is the only way to get to them. ....anyhow- advice welcome. Thanks all!

some time's it a good thing to hunt were there's a lot of good target to help with learning curve,like tot lots and to hunt with a partner,who is well seasoned to bounces question off of.
dig every thing at first don't go out to far in the woods just in case,there some then rung with your new detector,set up a test garden,make sure your not discriminating out any targets you want to find.If there to much garbage for you then knock it out.the garret is a pretty durable detector make sure you have extra batteries so when your out there you can change if needed.
I have two garrets but I per-fer Whites products they seem to find more and deeper targets,and there customer service is second to none.but either way you will have fun with your new detector.Ware head phones to help with deep targets,If you feel safe wherein them......Good luck.....

I have had my 350 for about 3 months now and I have been pleased with it. My dad and I were out Wednesday at the site of an old school, (135 years) and I found a penny twelve inches. Like with any detector you will have a learning curve, it will just take time and patience. If you have any questions this is a great place to get advice. If you want, PM me and I will give you my contact info. I will help you any way that I can, but I am still learning every time I go out.

cool! it sounds like a lot of learning, after seeing the videos on youtube I think it's going to rock learning a good machine! 12 inches down and finding a coin! wow. max with that BH was like 6-8 tops. nice. I'm looking forward to learning on the 350!

What kind of penny was that,Are you sure your pin pointing skill don't need to be brushed up on.With such a wide loop pin pointing can be a trick.

it was like a 1980 memorial that was just on the floor with my old bounty hunter, nothing older then 72 out of the three of them. the BH I think had issues with the plug in for the coil. (hence returning it.)....the 350 seems worlds better a machine then the BH...sorry I can see after reading this again that you were asking bgriffin about pin pointing. I'm still impressed that machine will go that deep- my reply was about coins my jacked up detector couldn't find - sorry about that...but any ideas discussions on the 350 and what it's like is good news to me - I'm excited that I will be getting it soon...
