After 15th Episode of Season 12.... Still any believers...?

I gave up on Joke Island years ago and was wondering if during the show's into if it is still stated that one more person must die before the mystery is revealed? If that's true, Season 13 might be unlucky, who knows?

Yea.... they still say that. And what legend they reference I don't have a damn clue. And how connected to the endeavor they have to be who knows...?

I hope the show ends. They can all fly home, ala the final episode of Mash.
Maybe a reunion show from Hawaii in 10 years.

From what I can see, COI is consistently in the top 5 for the History Channel. Assuming the brothers are making decent money and are not burned out, the show continues.

Well did episode 17 change anybody's opinion's yet... or just more of the same to ya...? It still amazes me that ANY find from human activity is related to something of value. And the last 7' hole came and went fast...!!!! Onto the next one now.

Anybody know what happened to SIZZLE ADLER who said he knew of something buried from the Knights Templar and shared it with 50,000 folks...? Anybody?

I've yet to run across a competent source for that bit either, but I have seen less P.C. versions: that the spirits that guard the treasure cannot be appeased until an infant or a black person is sacrificed by being thrown into the pit. Methinks they won't be airing that on national TV.

Hi All,

It’s the same as owning a boat. It’s a hole in the water where you throw your money and hope that it resurfaces. Same as this, its a hole in the island where you throw your money and hope that it resurfaces. It’s an ancient joke and they took the bait and followed it hook, line and sinker.

The only money they have is by the sponsorship and that is correct.

More to come. Yawn, change channel.

You could go onto YouTube and watch Terry Carter Treasure Hunter. At least his content is entertaining and the big Moon Lake / Treasure Hunters Gathering is at the Duchesne Event Center August 14, 15 and 16 2025 Duchesne, Utah. If you can get away you will find much in the way of Treasure Hunting, Gold Prospecting, Metal Detection and Much Much More. Plus it’s FREE they accept donations and there is some pretty cool stuff there to see. I have been there for the past 5 years and have met like minded people who have became friends.

That is Terry Carter Receiving a Moon Lake Placard in 2021.

I'm glad I record O.I. There's so much repeatable drivel and speculation, that I'm able to zip through a one hour show in about 15 minutes. I just stop to see whatever they find (more crap that anyone hunting in New England or Eastern Canada can find in any forest) and have a good laugh at the attributations they always seem to make to historic figures or treasure tales. I also don't mind seeing Emma! Doesn't anyone else think she's hot? :laughing7:

The Laginas have been digging on the island long before history channel came along and turned the show into a reality show. The Bro's bought 50% of Oak Island Tours from David Tobias back around 2006...

In the beginning i truly do believe they came cause they believed in the story and so many other's that came before them and at that time things like so-many have to die and the 90' stone and many other things were part of the old original tale..

Since they sold out to the history channel thou its just become a totally different thing which seems to be more about keeping the show alive as they constantly move around never completing what they were previoiusly working on... Hell they keep reintroducing things they had already done years before the History Channel took over writing and controlling the content which is kinda funny when you look back at the shows from 2006-2014...

Seems like no matter which side of the fence your on its either interesting to watch or just sit around trying to disprove what they constantly are trying to steer the thinking to... all in all tho it beats some dumb bachelor show.

I would never stop!

The Lagina brothers Rick and Marty from "The Curse of Oak Island" earn around $100,000 per episode, potentially reaching $2 million per season.

Once they sold out to History Channel the show has become nothing more then social entertainment for people either always trying to discount whats currently on the shows or maybe for others interested in general history of the area its kinda interesting but from what i have seen on this site pretty much all of the comments are about the Post History Channel take over so any real credibility really gets lost.

On another note for the ones that have seen the original shows you will come to realize that believing the Lagina's originally believed in the story was more of a fact then the "never solve anything" thinking the Bro's and the rest of the Fellowship of the Dig members way of doing things has become. For ones not ever seeing the original shows did you know that the Cove had a coffer damn in it for a whole season and a lot of the things they now pretty to not know about they had already found many years ago before the HC deal as well where the original shaft is was known as well even tho know they pretend they don't.

If someone truly wants a better understanding of what the Lagina's orginally were about before they became the reality show hosts they now are i would suggest you spend some time and find and watch all of the original shows/seasons before History Channels intervention which has nothing to do with any real history of the area any more.

Hello Buzz. Unless I am greatly mistaken, the show The Curse of Oak Island has always been a History Channel production. Certainly all twelve seasons that I've had access to were aired on History Channel, with the first season airing early in 2014 at just five episodes, and the episode count ramping up from there as the show gained popularity. To my knowledge there has been no dramatic shift in the structure of the deal History has with "the Michigan group" (as they were colloquially known) over that span, even after the death of creator Kevin Burns, so I'm not sure what you mean about "original" shows and selling out. The coffer dam season you refer to was season six, I think.

They did have an ownership stake in the island and were actively working with Triton Alliance in the pre-show years, but the scale of their search endeavours was smaller, I believe.

Over the years being seriously interested in history and archeology stuff regarding North America (my family is indigenous) I came across the story years ago. The 1st actual mainstream videos i came across where when the laginas 1st bought a stake in the island back around 2006 and shortly after that videos started to appear which i assume at that point in time where produced by the Lagina's and the few involved at that point in time... The HC shows didn't start until years later which is pretty much the era that most making comments on this site pertain to... at that point in time most of the people we now see (Members of the Fellowship of the Dig) were not even around back then.

To be honest i am not even sure if this site had anything regarding oak island back then and the few other web sites and forums that did contain talks about Oak Island have long disappeared..

There used to be an excellent site with factual information (that disproved most of everything on the show).

The laginas bought it a few years ago and took it down as it discredited the show.

I see the last 3 showing are just a rerun of each other. Nothing new except more guesses. Human activity in the swamp area again gets attention. And to what end does all this activity in the swamp achieve ...?

Maybe to just kill time and for filler. It seems to me it has absolutely nothing to do with something of value buried.

Wow, news to me. Cool.

I don't suppose you'll grace us with the URL of the original site? I for one would like to follow up on this and see if there is any shred of truth to your allegation, which I highly doubt bears a resemblance to the actual facts of the case. Sounds like more conspiratorial thinking to me ("THEY don't want you to know about this, so they disappeared it"). Websites come and go all the time, for all sorts of reasons other than being SILENCED.

I would have to route through a bunch of my archived stuff to find out the actual site's address's and check and see if they still appear in the Internet Archives or maybe the WayBackMachine website... I just remember that when i pulled all those videos and material off one of my rack machines that all of those websites had their domains had expired and their addresses were reclaimed and later i found that a couple of them had been taken over by the Lagina's\HC. Some of those sites back then were hosted on peoples private servers not really found on the internet unless someone pointed you at them... I think back then the whoie topic was more a niche then the over the top site the way things are know. Back then things were different as the cast of characters was a lot smaller as it was mainly Marty Rick Craig Dan(old dan not his son) and i think Jack... People like Gary and the Lagina kids and the rest of the pack were not there yet.

I think i 1st came across the Lagina's on some old forums i used to host or moderate on as the Bro's at that point in time were looking for information on the subject which lead me to look more into exactly who the Lagina's were. I know initially the way i remember it was Marty who was pretty well off from his business ventures with Craig decided he wanted to help Rick realize his childhood dream which was based on the old original story in the Readers Digest years and actually go to the east coast and start searching and everything kinda took off from there.

Things today have changed so much as the whole topic of Oak Island has become a business with huge revenue streams so its focus has changed from what was originally real interest and all the excitement that goes with that to now all its about is keeping its longevity going.

Now all they do is start the show with a few tidbits from the week before and then introduce a new idea(which they never finish) and then replay a bunch of previous crap from earlier shows, so a new episode is about 20% new with the rest being replayed crap.

Personally i never watch in real-time anymore as i just download the show and watch later when i get bored as i still like to get a chuckle watching them as the bro's really have become superior at bs'n stuff nowadays. Nothing makes me laugh more then watching a new episode where they start talking about doing something while pretending its something new when the reality is that in a lot of cases the subject had been looked at before in some Non-History-Channel episode.

In My opinion what ever was there has long disappeared and all they are really finding and documented is human presence in the area for whatever reason there was at that point in history. Without much effort it is easy to see humans, Acadian's as a example have been settled in the area since the early 1600's. I like studying the history of North America and am of the firm belief that humans have been in North East North America long before conventional history would have us believe.

All in all to me its interesting as its just another piece of the puzzle of our history here in North America.
