My friend and I went looking to see what the flood might have stirred up. We found a lot...of broken glass. But it is still a hot spot. I can't wait till it warms up.

DSCN0823.webp DSCN0836.webp She found a piece of glass that I didn't see.

DSCN0825.webp DSCN0826.webp I don't know what this round metal is, but it is the second one I have found.

DSCN0827.webp DSCN0849.webp shovel

DSCN0828.webp DSCN0829.webp DSCN0835.webp

DSCN0831.webp possibly a bone, we forgot to pick it up.

DSCN0830.webp DSCN0832.webp DSCN0833.webp Heart breaker!

DSCN0837.webp DSCN0838.webp Just a piece of iron something or other. I was practicing.:tongue3:

DSCN0839.webp The day wouldn't be complete with out nails!

DSCN0842.webp Can you see it?

DSCN0843.webp There it is!

Now I know this is an odd posting for MDS, but I am also practicing with the B700. worltalker and chadeaux were talking about closeups with it and I can say I haven't figured that out. These are my attempts. I guess this is what chadeaux was talking about when he said, "bokay?"

Thanks for looking!

Mode Dial=SCENE =Close-up Are you using that?

GOD Bless

Chris

Nice shots.

Yep, bokeh. As I said, I have the cheaper version of that Nikon ... but it seems that when the scene changes, it takes a while before my camera can figure out that I've gone from landscape to closeup or vise versa. Gets a bit frustrating at times.

When I do macro (very close up) I sometimes run out of patience before the camera catches up (3-4 seconds can seem like an eternity to kneel with all the bone chips in my knees). Still learning what works and what doesn't with autofocus.

Personally, I would love to take more pics with my Canon Rebel, but it has no autofocus (broken years before I got it) and it just doesn't take as sharp of an image as I like, but that's probably because I don't see as well as I used to.

Don't get old.

No, not yet. A friend and I were starting to look into it last night. This is why I need to read the manual. At least look through the highlights.

Bokeh. No wonder I couldn't find anything about it, I was spelling it wrong.

I'm already old. The problem is when you forget and act like your young!

I have a few sites I relic hunt around here, but finding a complete bottle is rare, as most the dump sites are in a wheat field that's been plowed over again and again. It's fun to just to figure out what it was once and how old it is.

As far as bottles go, I've been blessed on this farm. All the ones in my avatar were found here, plus there was a large one I broke on the final rinse last year. Pulled two mortise locks from that creek also. and a car battery cell.

Coins - only the one so far

some relic iron/metal pieces

nails, fence, and fence posts - I think I'm pushing 1/4 ton by now! LOL. JK.

I hope you find some whole bottles this year. They are fun to research! Especially when you get one of those quackery tonic types.

Old..??? There is no "old"for spirit, you're just aging.

Oh, inside I'm still that wide eyed 18 year old kid ... I prove that every day by some bone head decision I make. The transport mechanism, however, is wearing out.

That little kid is still in me..the body just don't respond as it used to.:tongue3:

That large ring is a saddle cinch ring.

Oh, Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have found two of them so far. I was totally clueless!

been using my phone for now. Nice camera.

Well I had a canon power shot that finally bit the dust. I'm sure falling in the creek had nothing to do with it. LOL! worldtalker recommended this Nikon B700. I've been taking in as much information as I can from the gentlemen on this thread. They may have created a monster. :laughing7:

However, you are partially guilty of creating the metal detecting monster. You are one of the guys I asked an opinion on. I now have an AT Max. Thank you for giving me advice.

I really appreciate the helpfulness from the people on Tnet! :notworthy:
