It would work for a silk scarf but not a scout's neckerchief. But it does appear to be a scarf slide.

thinking its a old timey style "bear cub" --cub scout * neck hankerchief slide -- the cub scouts symbol is a bear cub .

I think it would have to be a very small, thin kerchief to work with this small thing. Largest opening is maybe the size of a dime and the 2 others even smaller. So as mentioned earlier a silk scarf yes.

cub scouts are very young boys = small size

might have been den mother's item or mom of a boy scout silk scarf item or maybe they used silk scarfs back in the day ?

As I recall, the rookie or lowest rank Cub Scout was the Bobcat, then the Wolf and finally the Bear. I can see it being a Bobcat kerchief slide. So maybe that's it. I tried to Google it to see if I could find a match, but had no luck. It could be a vintage piece and valuable to collectors.

Hey Celtex. Nice find  I too think it's a kerchief slide of some sort. Just wanted to mention that you should NEVER post the name or location of your sites :sign13: Unless of course, you don't mind every detectorist within a 50 mile radius showing up and killing your spot :laughing7: Take my advice
