A devastating fire has engulfed the main stage at one of Europe’s biggest music festivals.A frantic operation has been launched to deal with the towering inferno which has taken over Tomorrowland in Belgium.Footage shows the huge main stage up in flames as thick black clouds of smoke billow into the air over the town of Boom near Antwerp.At least three-quarters of the spectacular set piece is said to have been decimated.The festival begins on Thursday but the main stage was not due to be used until Friday.Some of the world’s most popular DJs were due to take to the stage including Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Fisher, Swedish House Mafia and Steve Aoki.Witnesses reported hearing fireworks going off as the flames started to engulf the left side of the stage.Dozens of emergency teams rushed over to the festival grounds just after 6pm to try and extinguish the flames and evacuate those inside.No members of public were at the festival at the time but around 1,000 staff members were working at the site.Around 400,000 festival goers from across the globe are expected to attend across two weekends.But the fire has now raised fears that the entire event could be cancelled.Read more:https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3588006...

Wow indeed. The organisers have assured fans that the event will go ahead, albeit "with some logistical issues."
Initial reports are that the stage was set alight while firework cannons for the pyrotechnics display were being tested and spread quickly due to the "materials used" for construction. Fortunately, no-one was reported as injured.

Maybe it will help other's not to screw up.

I still wear the scar of been blown out of my house camper door window.
Cause:
Filling a kerosene heater with white naphtha gas was my screw up.

Reminiscent of the Station Nightclub Fire in West Warwick Rhode Island, where 100 died & over 200 injured. It is fortunate in this fire that it happened during a test, and not when the place was filled with concert goers,

It may be a loss, but it is just a thing and life will go on. Thank God it burnt now and not with a full house during a performance.
