I am staying on South Padre Island this week and have spent about 6 hours in the last 2 days out on the beach detecting. I did pretty good on Clad but wanted a ring. Well this afternoon I pulled a ring out of the sand, I was so excited after looking at it I couldn't detect anymore so I made a bee-line to the hotel. Well when I got to my room I looked at it under the magnifying glass and almost got disappointed, it said China CZ 925. Oh well it still looks pretty maybe tomorrow I will find the real thing.

Thanks for looking!

my heart just skipped a beat as well good luck and hh

Don't feel bad. . . at least you found something (when you wish for something, I've learned it helps to be more specific :D).

As Mel once said, tomorrow's the day. Best of luck to you & HH!

Outback - Congrats! I found one identical to yours back in the spring, and my reaction was the same as yours. It's silver, so that counts for something. Always nice to find rings. My wife claimed mine.

Did you have a change of shorts? :o ;D
That one had me fooled too. Still a fantastic looking ring.
Congrats,

Heck, I wouldn't complain about finding that ring!! 8) Very pretty!!!

Nana ;)

How did you manage Padre Island..isn't that whole area off limits to detecting ??? The patrols are pretty heavy aren't they ?

Only parts of Padre Island are off limits (small parts). The tourist areas around the hotels are ok to detect.

I'd still consider it a keeper!!!

I don't have a lot of patience for gold jewelry so I don't hit the beach much. The only gold I've found was a 1966 10K class ring and that's just because I though I was going after a Buffalo or V Nickel....So it was a (cool) accidental find. I bet I've walked right over lots of gold jewelry.

It's still better than a pull-tab, and a whole lot prettier... ;D

lol,,, Ain't that the truth... ;D
Continued Good luck, & Happy hunting~

First reaction when I saw it posted was WOW!!! The 925 makes it real silver and that is good. Anyone else looking at that on your girls finger wouldn't know it is a CZ. Who cares, a ring of anykind is still a nice find.
Congats and HH Roy.

Thanks everyone for all the posts.

A friend of mine informed me not to discount the ring due to having CZ's. He reminded me that even a well made Silver ring with CZ could be valuable. My question is can you have a CZ ring appraised? Who would be able to tell me how much something like this is worth? I am afraid to take it to an upscale jewelry store and ask for an appraisel of a ring with fake stones.

any help would be appreciated.

Outback,
Here's a picture of the one I found, and an online ad for a similar sterling silver, 3 stone ring. The ad had it for $32

not worth very much after all I guess.

I bet you already had your money spent before you even got home to find out it was a CZ.

:) was there in padre island lovely place and lovely beaches stayed in the sheraton i think about two years ago keep on hunting it will come the big old pot o gold at the end of the rainbow ;D ;)

Know how you felt on that ring. I found a small "gold" ring with a little "diamond" in the center. Rushed back to the house and cleaned it only to find the word "AVON" along the inside of the band. Although it was not a big $ ring it is still one of my faves. I wish I could find the owner. I'm sure the little girl who lost it is married now and her last name is no longer Avon. (jus kiddin) ;D
