I honestly thought that I was going to get skunked today. A little stretch of woods that I was checking out after work just wasn't producing. I decided to head home for dinner, and as I was walking out, pow! Beautiful tone, 90 on the VDI, I knew at once that I had big silver!

This is my first Barber Half Dollar, it's hard to tell from the picture but the coin actually has a nice purple tone. Have you guys ever noticed that it seems as if most coins are found either at the very beginning or at the very end of a hunt? Thanks for looking!

That's a nice one, congrats

Sweet silver half.

Sometimes I think one should just have a nap between the beginning and end of the hunts. :dontknow:

Congrats on your first Barber Half. That is a great looking coin. You have no idea how many times I have found a nice coin in the first 10 minutes, then should have just shut my detector off and gone home !

Great half, the dark toning actually makes it look more appealing, don't get that kind of contrast from "like new" looking coins, dug silver is the best, always has an original look.

Sweet find Mike, congrats on crossing another first off your list! Love halfs, and love when they're Barber. Hopefully one of us can pull a Seated out this year. And to answer your question, it seems to happen all the time...maybe we should be doing nothing but starting or stopping :)
