I thought YouTube was doing away with these types of make overs?

Ai is taking over social media and Youtube is not fighting to hard against it. The best way to combat slop is to not watch it.

YouTube monetization requirements used to be 1k subs and 4000 public watch hours. But now they are changing it to 8000 watch hours in a few months and it's a crushing blow to small youtubers almost at the requirements, because now they have to double watch hours which is HARD. (keep in mind in count hours only in the past year.

For instance me, I've been YouTubing since 2020 and I've accumulated 700 subs and 2000 watch hours. I had hope that one viral video could monetize me, but now it feels hopeless.
However AI channels can keep making videos that take little to no effort and decent quality so it's easier.
