And Mexican silversmiths are some of the best out there. The Taxco stuff is really nice. I can't speak for the ChiComs though...
I agree about the Taxco stuff. I would never melt any of it. There are many Taxco collectors.

They are muy' beuno. :icon_thumleft:

DIGGUMUP can you post me link with there hallmarks?
There are entire books devoted to the subject of Mexican Hallmarks, Hundreds of those being made in Taxco. I can post a link with a book that shows some of the marks but you can't "see" all the pages. Here is a good book to give you an idea, it starts on page 95 but you can scroll around- http://tinyurl.com/3ekvvfs

Thanks for the link. Great book. I bought a bunch of Taxco (and other) pieces in a jewelry box at a yard sale for $5. I didn't know what it was myself when I bought it, except that it was sterling. All the bracelets sold on eBay for a nice premium over spot silver; I think they were all post 1980 pieces. Very nice jewelry imho; though there are common designs generally, individual pieces can vary a lot, some are really very aesthetic.
