Stop it already ! You're hogging all the silver coins Vino - Dang , no wonder I can't find any !

Hey Vino,

That is a beautiful Barber dime. The seated, being a seated is a winner too even though it's condition is not as nice as the Barber. I hope EVERYONE finds a KG or maybe even two tomorrow.

Its not..just tarnish. .I can take bake soda and get it off...But thanks.

Why not use the aluminum foil and baking soda method to remove the tarnish? That's non-abrasive, as opposed to baking soda polishing coins into scratched lumps of silver.

PM me for details, if you're interested.

Tell the nameless one to beware of predug holes!

Sweet barber, the seated is not so bad..

That seated is a lot nicer than it looks at first glance.

I once had a coin silver spoon that someone had electroplated. It looked like that dime.

The silver is too bright on the low spots, and slightly worn on the high spots down to the original coin silver surface.

If I had to guess, I'd say someone plated your dime before it was lost.

If so, it might clean up really nice.

Two great coin finds Vino. The Barber is sharp but I think I like the seated even better, because of its uniqueness. I agree with some of the others that it appears to be electroplated or counterfeit. The fact that the highest surfaces are consistently dark is what stands out. Sort of like buttons that have been gilded. I like it!

Very nice coins as always Vino. Good luck on tomorrow's hunt. Hope "you know who" finds a copper the size of a frisbee! GL&HH.

Well folks, Vino's wishes came true. It seems the unnamed one found his KG and I definitely found my oldest silver. We owe it all to The Modest Master who allowed us on his sites for the day!

yea but it don't count dave, its too far gone to recognize. it came out of the ground so toasted, as a matter of fact the two large cents I dug were demolished too, that ground seemed to be harsh on the coins, except silver of course
