Been out for a few times this year already with nothing but some wheats to show for it. Went to 2 places with my buddy on Saturday. First one was a bust so we went to a different, more productive spot. My buddy called it quits after 3.5 hours. I wasn't leaving till I found some silver. I really beat myself up to find this warn out Seated Quarter on a very steep tall buff. She was only just under the surface. Used my pinpointer do dig it up. Spent a total of 5.5 hours hiking and digging. Im still worn out as I post this.

Are you able to see a Mint Mark on the Reverse ?

Thanks E-Trac. This is my second seated quarter. I added some better pictures. When I say worn out, she's worn out. Probably in circulation for quite sometime before she fell on that hill.

That certainly is a great start to your 2026 detecting season. You put in a lot of time and a lot of effort. In the end you got yourself a fantastic reward. Hope this is the first of many silvers for you. Cheers!

Thanks monkey! To be honest I was getting discouraged. I had been out hunting this season a total of 30 hours before I found something good.

FANTASTIC FIND :) CONGRATS

Nicely done on the Seated Quarter.
Like you said she's been around the block for awhile before being dropped.

Awesome find!

Totes worth it for a seated coin. I am on the West coast, oldest I have found is Barbers.
Keep on chugging, dude. You will hit a streak soon enough.

Thanks beerguy. Went back to the top of the bluff yesterday and dug my first Shield Nickel and a V Nickel. Then got lucky with a barber dime and a rosie. 3 silvers for the year!
