AMAZING...INCREDIBLE...8 REALE!!!!! (New Pic Added 12 Nov 06)

I found this about 2 hours ago at a homestead which has been around for over 300 years. In the same yard I also found a 1799 Britannia! I thought I had found the pinacle with the 1799 Britannia but 20 minutes later I found this...

It was only 4 inches down...I hit it with the shovel as seen in the pic. 1798 8 Reale!!! I almost fainted! I am still giddy with excitement!!!

Sorry for the crappy pics...I could barely stop my hand from shaking!!!

HOLY S#%* what a find. That coin is going to be hard to beat in the future. But then again maybe not .Go back and find it brother or sister.

Thanks for all of the comments...I am still on cloud nine! I'm heading back out today but not to where I found the 8; too far of a drive. I am going to hit a couple corn fields which have just been harvested...I have a feeling that after yesterday I will be somewhat disappointed today...(not really).

Isnt it funny that the day before you found this you had just told me in the post of my 1899 Canadian dime that you had never found any Canadian silver yet and that it was hard to find!

Your picture of the 8 Reale was (excuse me, is) so pretty that I installed it as background on my desktop. My only Reale so far is 1786 and so badly worn that little detail remains. Great find!
