Hello all- all opinions welcome here. I really can't say I know anything much about what I have here. I am attracted to American Indian real photo post cards circa 1900 and jewelry. Yet this time I was able to buy some different items. Rugs, wall hanging, blankets, shoes, beaded items. Sadly there is condition flaws with a few items. Also I'm sure not all are American Indian I'm thinking the old tourist baby item is maybe from Peru? Anyway feedback is welcome. I will post a photos thanks

Larson will recognize some of the bead work if he stops in. Like Gator I am un familiar with the more modern works. Good luck cool stuff. The area bought might help.

I understand this is not the correct board. I posted on another and it was suggested I might also try this board. I'm a antique dealer and collector. I bought for the first time ever a storage unit with a friend. I was very interested in the American Indian items among other items. I tried to get information from the owner. He inherited much of the items from his parents and grandparents. He did say his great great grandmother was captured by Comanche Indians. And there is a book written about it by a missionary in 1959. The beaded belt looks victorian to me. I only think this because of the jewelry on the middle part. Anyway, a few clues in the locker could suggest Oklahoma and New Mexico. But honesty they guy didn't seem to know much. His grandparents were big time world travelers. I have lots of stuff from all over the world from this unit.

Check e-bay is all I can offer. I dont know if we have any collectors that like those. They are kewl looking but I only do stone.

What I will say is that someone put a lot of time in to making these items, so if you did not spend a lot of money on them you got a good deal. With out looking at the thread that was used and other items I can't say for sure, but they all look good. Thanks for posting:thumbsup:

Hi- I spent 500 on the locker I've already made back 200 and still have antique furniture I haven't put on the market yet. I know I will make 300.00 back on the furniture when I sell it. So in my mind these items will become "free" I also have what we call smalls that will become gravy. I found a website that will do 3 free appraisals and 5.00 for items after that. They only appraise American Indian. I hope to send them email in the next week or 2. I've got a big trip soon (junk store)and a little one I'm getting ready for kindergarden. Life is busy!! One of these days I will find my arrows and post them. No clue if I have reproductions I didn't dig them up. So I'm sure they are haha- this is a awesome app

Best of luck to you.

the rugs appear to be modern (maybe not the 1rst one which i think is the oldest and coolest) but they are pretty

the second to the last image has two nice pieces....if i had them they would go on my wall.....i would cherish those two pieces and never sell them
the little papoose on the cradle board is cool.....
.....also the jingle pouch is nice...probably worn in the womens dance....the bangles are tin (not copper) except for four of them which are brass
i think those pieces are maybe up to 100 years old give or take

the bead work and the beads look absolutely great......the beads are the kind that are hard to find

thank you for posting them

Most of the stuff looks pretty good, I'd say you'll pay for the locker without any problems.

like Larson said, most of the rugs look like newer examples. But the first one looks like a rainbow ye'ii design, and it appears to have some age. It would probably cost a lot to have restored, but to the right collector or dealer it could be a special piece. (good eye Larson.)

A couple of the leather items look like newer work, probably still have some art value, but one with bangles/jingles almost looks like a piece of darker, machine stitched piece of calvary leather (like a pouch from a saddle bag or something) which is a nice detail on beaded items. This bag, the pappoose, and the belt are probably the more valuable ones in the group.

You have two items tied together with a ribbon next to the beaded bag, can you post a picture of those? They look like two very nice iron points.

Here you go- you caught me just in time. About to take a small road trip to the country. Beautiful day here in va too. Any help help would be great I'm clueless about the arrows I admit.
