Amulet Sold Years Ago at Waddington's Auction House in Canada
I had this listed in the What is It? category asking if it might be an Inuit item as it was sold by a well known Canadian auction house. Someone suggested it was a Native American amulet and that I post here. I'm not sure how to track down the auction number as it looks to have been pretty far back by the tag. The amulet measures 4 1/2 inches in length and 1 1/2 inches at the widest point. It looks to be soapstone or slate and appears to be broken off at the end. I am curious about the age and approximate value as well as the possible tribal group. Thanks for your help.
