An 11 yr old's finds from the neighbor's yard!

We've been at the whole metal detecting thing for a month or so now, and the boy finally decided to see if he could dig up the neighbor's back yards too! Our neighborhood is well established, so the homes were all built in the 40s and 50s.

Some neat finds in an hour!

The truck is a tootsietoy tow truck from the 50s. Found it packed full of sand, so we figure the area it sat must have been the kid's sand box. Lol... Only 3 wheels left under it.

The round disc is an aluminum coaster marked "Stanhome" (also from the 50's).

The badge is related to an old western show called "Tales of Wells Fargo", and is dated on the back 1958.

Not a ton of value to any of this stuff, but the kid is HOOKED!!!

Super finding both tow truck and western badge on the same hunt! My childhood spanned the 40's & 50's so I'm looking forward to seeing more familar objects as your boy detects those neighborhood yards! Though my family was four girls & no guys, we enjoyed playing outdoors with toy trucks & fire engines as much as with our dolls. HAVE FUN! Andi

Yeah, I wish I had got into detecting when I was that age. Great finds for one of his first hunts and with a Bounty Hunter too.

Thanks guys! The toughest thing for him so far has been trying to dig in this hard summer ground. I think that's why he lets me tag along. Lol...

Yeah same here, I drooled over the "gold bug" in gold prospector magazines for 20 years before getting off the fence.
