it is always much fun to find these game pieces especially the shiny little bone ones
i think tomorrow i am gonna go across the river to get some more pictures from my friend johns frames then i will post some more

Is it documented anywhere on how some of the games were played or are they lost to history?

Yeah way back 100 years ago, a guy named Stewart Culin had the foresight to research and document native games. He published an exhaustive 850 page report with images and descriptions. And now you can buy it for the low price of $1.99 for your Kindle! (click on the cover of the book to see a preview)

hey thanks much roller.......i think i am gonna get the paperback version (only 20 bucks)

very interesting material

I think your place must be like a museum. How exciting to have all this history in one place. & you are an amazing caretaker!

I would take one and make a pendant out of it for a necklace and use it as a good luck piece.....

American by birth, Patriot by choice.

I would rather die standing on my two feet defending our Constitution than live a lifetime on my knees......

Super interesting to me too. I came across that book while researching discoidals and chunkey. Turns out that there was a village near my home that was likely a discoidal workshop. Excavations at the Winslow Site, where Seneca Creek empties into the Potomac River, turned up 115 discs in various states of manufacture. Most were made of a fine grained red sandstone, quarried nearby. (And this same quarry turned out the stone used to make the original Smithsonian Castle.) Pretty cool. Now, if I could just find one I'd be a happy man.

Really hoping you can find some pieces in the book that match what you have!

hey thanks much Mamabear, TH, and roller

as i posted earlier i went to get some more images from my friend john at his house
now here they are:
