Well, I got the riot act read to me last night by the little lady, after mentioning my plan to go detecting this morning. I decided to play it safe and take care of some overdue things around the house instead.
As I was walking the dog on this lovely 80 degree day with low humidity, I was feeling a bit resentful about not detecting. I caught a glimpse of a sparkling piece of metal near the curb and picked up what i thought was a .22 caliber shell. I didn't have my glasses on, so I decided to put the trash in my pocket for later examination.
It was not until I got home and put on my glasses that I realized that I had found a baby's 14K pendant with a sterling silver Star of David with the name "Sadie" written in Hebrew.
As an experienced metal detecting enthusiast it is my belief that I am more "tuned in" to finding jewelry, even without a detector. This is one of many "eyeball" jewelry finds I have made.
Thanks for looking!
