I was joined by "Clothesline Lori " to search a lawn we know has some history.
Lori struck Silver first with a 1941 Mercury Dime. She thought for a minute that I may have planted the silver because it was only 2 inches deep. Trust me,, I don't plant silver.
It took a little time but I finally got a silver at about 7 inches deep. It is pretty worn but it looks like a 1920d.
That was followed by a 1912 Wheat penny.
Towards the end of the hunt, I got a funny signal that I almost didn't dig. At about 8 inches, I found a nice rusty nail. It was masking a ring that at first I thought was silver. Turns out the ring is costume but still fun to find. All in all, a good hunt.

Cool! You both got Mercs. Nice to see you have a friend to hunt with. I won't be planting any silver either. Get your OWN silver! :blackbeard:

I found a heavy honkin big ring like yours in the yard of an old house, turned out to be plated as well. :censored:

two silvers and a ring, even if the ring ain't the kind we hope for, it is still a ring find. even more positive is hunting with lady that loves to detect too....and you both found silver, win win win! pretty cool hunt
