Had about 3 hrs this morning as I'm trying to get in as much as I can before the weather takes a cold turn on me. I'm still working the fields of the 12 old home sites that no longer exist. Today's earthly digs are from the first field is a Virgin Mary Pendent in the same hole as a 1859 Fatty Indian Head Cent. Nearby on top of the dirt in the corn husks was the 1867 Shield Nickel, only my 2nd Sheild Nickel ever! Also came up with two gilted 2-piece buttons that cleaned up real well :icon_thumright:

I moved on to another field nearby where I've previously dug flat buttons. None today but I finally got a large cent from there after thinking that I wasn't going to get one today :tongue3:
Also in that field was this small key hole plate, looks lke it went to a little kids lock box.

The digs.... before and after a bit of cleaning up. Thanks for looking!

That is a nice large cent and flower buttons. I always love digging early relics and sounds like you have some great places to dig them.
