Another bird..the red eyed Phainopepla flycatcher..

...it wasn't easy getting these pictures, that's my excuse for them being unclear...lol I had thought that all the black birds hanging around were just starlings & cowbirds...until I took a closer look at this one with it's red eyes and fringe on top of the head. Then saw in my book that it's somewhat rare here, in fact they lay their eggs some where else then come here to lay a second batch! In the first nest site they live on mistletoe berries until they're gone and that's when they come here & live on a flycatchers diet & lay a second time. The grey bird with him is the female, added a couple more of her at bottom. I added a couple pictures that show the white wing patches that are only seen when flying, but they're real blurry..sorry.

That's a very elegant bird, simply dressed with just a few fancy accouterments! Thanks for the pictures!
