Another castle hunt...

It was such a beautiful day I decided to skip cutting the firewood and went to the castle for a hunt after work. Remembered my camera and took this picture of the slope I have been detecting, this is just a part of it, goes back another 50 yards. Eventually, this dirt and debris will get spread around down hill and this is rich in finds, concentrated finds! I ran into the club chief who is renovating the castle, this guy is the reason I got a permit after a run in several years ago, glad I did, it closed some detecting doors but reopened them later. We grumbled at each other a little, he asked me if I had a permit and I told him authorization came from Mr. X at the town hall, the mayor’s right hand man. He was a bit friendlier after that but not much. We went our ways. So I detected for about an hour then came another club member. He is a good guy, grew up playing around the castle and hasn’t stopped and he is in his 60’s. He and I chatted for about an hour about the castle.

Only found about 8 nails, here are the nice nails, 4”/10cm. Some of the nicest hand forged nails you ever did see. HH, Mike

Nice pictures Mike ...if only the nails could talk Great that you got to talk to somebody that has the same interest as you, had a few of those myself, but you sure forget about the time

I love finding old square nails!

Especially if they're rosehead!

I've never seen anything that old though!

These nails so long Copper have used to down the wooden beams of the roof of the castle.
