Cool finds, I tried getting in the woods a little today also but the skeeters also attacked me.

RiverRat,That's why I get out early,real cool and they aren't flyin around,warms up though,head to the house!!!!!!!!!!!!
 

you weren't hunting near an old machine shop or an old powder mill were you? sometimes copper mallets were used in these places to keep from buggering up threads and stuff on machines and to not create sparks that could ignite a powder explosion. pretty cool find!

Man, that copper is a nice find. I live in west central Florida and will be glad to send you some jam up good bug repellant so you can keep hunting. Skeeters are a mess down here almost all year.

Are you sure that's a hammer head? The hole looks awful small for a wooden handle to be practical. Maybe a metal handle? Nice find though.... :thumbsup:

When I cleaned it all the wood fell out.
