Not a bad day Monday, the ground is still great for digging. Visited a home site built in 1900 that I hit once recently and found some decent keepers, figured I’d go back and take my time and use the snow cover to my advantage to grid search the yard better and it paid off. Found some typical trash and brass and a few cool relics, and topped off hunt with a 1940 merc and my first silver war Nickel 1945-S, both in great condition. Ended up heading out again this am and decided to take a nice ride through some back roads in MA to look for some old land to hunt and out of nowhere I came upon a home from the 1800s that I hit 2 yrs ago that produced some nice finds, going with my gut and knowing the ground is perfect right now I said let’s see what I missed, slowed down my swing, ran the AT wide open and got real low sniffing out those deep whispers. Paid off pretty well and ended up with a few sweet keepers amongst the usual “trash”. Also took a bit of time this afternoon and Cleaned up this awesome relic that I recently found with my buddy Nathan, I had a feeling it was some sort of whistle but after it cleaned up and I did my research it’s even cooler than I thought. This is an early-mid 1900s 3-tone nickel plated Train Conductors Whistle (missing the lanyard) also used for maritime navigation at times, made in England and it still works!! Enjoy! Picture of what it looks like New with lanyard is attached. All in all season is still going strong! HH!
