I think #4 a transitional? #5 is throwing me way off (well, more so than usual!) as I have never seen a mib like it.

I just looked at these...are the pics clear enuf for you to get a good idea? If not, I can redo.

I think the first 3 are akros, the next is machine made not transitional from what I can tell, but not sure who made it. Last looks like a Master but need pics of the seams to be sure.

I'm revisiting some of my posts. Do the akros have a name? They look corkish but not quite?

Look at some pics of Akro Carnelians and see if these match to you.

I went xploring online and checked out the Carnelians. Honestly, I'm uncertain altho they do certainly look similar. At first I thot not at all b/c I didn't see the white on mine, but I really looked and it is as if the white traces along the edge of the ribbon. In my opinion, they aren't a particularly pretty marble whether they are carnelians or not...I don't know if it is the color or what!!

Yeah, yours are carnelians. I like them more than some, less than others. I like em better in corkscrew form :D .

Checked out more of the carnelians on ebay. The corkscrew ones seem to ask for a pretty penny (which I agree are nicer to look at for the pattern itself); and, tho less so, seems the non-cork ones are up there (in my book anyways) too. I can't see why when they are one of the most "meh" marbles I have come across. Something about them make them special? (I'm missing it if there is!!!)

They have more going on than most common marbles. More colors than the common akro, they are on an ade base which any of the ades go for more money than the common stuff, and I think most people look at them favorably. I guess it's like anything else, you have some people who love the latest model chevy or ford or whatever, and you have some people who hate it. Just a difference in taste.
