For the second morning in a row, another silver ring! This one is marked 925 mexico.

I went to the soccer park again this morning, where I found my first silver ring yesterday. I had noted signs yesterday of an invitational soccer tournament today. I didn't think the thing would start so early...wrong!... when I got there at 7:am the place was already jumping with activity. So, I head accross the road to the baseball/football area (this is a massive recreation area in Hamburg Twp. MI) 6 baseball diamonds and two football fields. There is also a weekend carnival that sets up in this area, once a year in early summer. A lot of ground to cover in these 2 areas!

Anyways... Todays totals:
10 quarters, 15 dimes, 0 nickles though I dug a bout 50 pull tabs >:( ,23 mem. pennys and one lonley wheat - 1957d. aaannnndddd of course another silver ring!

last pic shows yesterdays silver (top) and todays. Thanks for looking and HH everyone.

Jim

congrats on your finds. That is a cool looking ring.

Nice looking rings.... I would work on those pulltabs... If you are dirt digging that is an awful lot and slowing down your finds.... I know on the dfx most of the time (I dig some too) I can tell by a very broken signal and the reading....

With the Se... it is pretty much the same thing...but not as certain for me yet...

On my Prizm IV they are hard to distinguish, when I get an unbroken nickle signal I dig! looking for the gold! Also dimes always show as copper on my machine. I'd say 60% of my copper sigs are clad dimes 40% are older pre 1982 pennys. I usually pass on the zink sigs ??? I would love to upgrade to either of your machines, but just not in the cards right now :'(

Jim sorry to hear your readings are off... Not sure of your warranty situation,,, but when my dfx started giving wrong readings I took it in... (Yes I am 14 miles from a service center) and it needed to be re calibrated.... If under warranty maybe you should give Whites a call... The readings should be accurate...or at least in the ballpark... I know that can be frustrating...

As far as the machines go... The dfx seems better with the jewelry and for digs up to 6-7 inches... But the explorer gets me 10-12 inches and coins which my dfx was just not getting to... If you ever get the chance...they are both fine machines! :)

HiHo silver...Yeehaw!

I'm not so sure my readings are off, it's just that the Prizms are not high priced machines. Don't have VDI numbers or whatever...quarters reading come up quarters ( or silver rings lately!) Copper: I get clad dimes or copper! Nickles: I get some nickles, but mostly pulltabs. 50 cents has always been flattened cans or can tops, usually reading 8+ inches depth. I'm just dealing with what I have to work with. Sooner than later I will upgrade. I think about MDing a lot, Just need a little time financially to make my move to a top notch machine.

HH, Jim
