Congrats buddy!!

After 3 years of ownership, I still use stock/standard settings.

Only thing I do is move the completely useless Iron bias to ZERO in every mode ;-)

Nice finds!!! I too am a new Equinox 800 owner. Only in my case, I previously used a Relco BFO, Whites Coinmaster BFO, Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505, Bounty Hunter Legacy 3500, Teknetics T2 classic & T2SE LTD. To me the Equinox is the Cadilac of metal detectors that I have owned and the Equinox 800 will not disappoint you. I love my 800!!!

Oh you must not hunt in trashy areas? When I hunt beaches, I put my FE2 on 7 and no longer dig any bottle caps and still find nice targets. When I had it on zero, I got TONs of bottle caps.

Always hunt super trashy parks...always zerp oron bias.

Put a coin next to a nail on iron bias 6...sounds very sketchy.

Put zero iron bias coin slams your ears.

Imho, iron bias masks a hell of a lot.

You don't mention which IB you have selected (Fe or F2) which implies to me you are probabl referring to the old Fe.

Iron bias F2 is much, much better than the original Iron bias Fe. I use F2 primarily at the default setting (ML seems to know what they are doing with their default settings, in general) and kill it. It's a useful blade in the Swiss Army knife that is Equinox and is provided for a good reason.. It may not be the right tool for all, situations, but it shouldn't be rejected out of hand, either. YMMV.
