This one is a little better than the first one I posted. It looks like it broke while it was being manufactured...NW Iowa. It is about 1 inch wide and 2 inches long.

Very well could be..I thought manufacture fracture because i thought it looked kind of like a flake scar the dove too deep.

What do you think this thing is?

You are right Rock, it is an impact fracture. I just looked at it again and it is jagged where it broke, not smooth like a flake scar.
 

I'd lean towards Golondrina for the type. Early to middle archaic.
 

I don't know what type of stone that is but it is fine on the color range and a nice artifact:thumbsup:

I was looking at that type as well but I thought all of those have deep convex bases.
 

Well it could also be a fire pop. Allot of the farmers do burn there fields sometimes. When they do that it causes the flint to pop sometimes. I forgot about that.
