This hobby never ceases to amaze me with just how much variety can come out in a short time.
I got completely fooled on this first one. I got an iffy signal, (actually, signals!). Dug anyway.
Was pretty close to quitting for the day, tired, I said, "Coil spring." and dropped it in the pouch. Closed up the hole, stomped it down.
Happened to scan again and you guessed it, something else.
I said, crap! Then, bent down to unbutton the hole and checked with my pinpointer, (like I should've done in the first place). Found a bit of can-slaw, started closing up again, thought better of it and checked. Yep, something else! Hmmm. I said another slaw piece but found it anyway. It kept running away! I chased it from one side to the other of the hole 3 times before I finally figured it must be really small and started paying more attention.
Finally, I found a very small piece of silvery looking something. Turned out to be a tiny signet piece.
I didn't figure it out until I was going thru the finds at home.
The "coiled spring" was a ring!
With all the work and finding it in two pieces, I'm counting it as the first 2 pieces of the tri-fecta.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL

This is the whole wheat toast I'm used to finding.
This a strange piece to be finding but I just had to know what it was, (trashcan signal!).
Kind of obviously the top part of a scales of some sort but still a very solid piece of brass/bronze/copper. Don't know how old.
This is the rest of my "Fecta". Sounded like a penny hit to me. When I opened the plug I said that ain't no penny! LOL
Shortly after I dug the scale up, I turned off my detector and went home! I was tired when I started digging it and pooped when finished!
Interesting array of finds for 3.5 hours at a school I'd say.
