When this show started, I confess I was very intrigued. How could I not be, being a Nova Scotian whose roots go back quite a number of generations in the same county. Heck I grew up with the stories of this island. I was on this island as a teenager. My brothers and I read all the books. As I got older and my love of history deepened, I came to view the island not in the manner of monetary treasure, but in the historical treasure that might be found there. Sadly, the latter treasure has not been found and if it once existed, I fear it is now even further destroyed. Smith's Cove and those darned fibres will always intrigue me however, as I really believe they show some sort of activity on the island that predates the French and English. Sadly, I have come to conclusion that whatever secrets Oak Island once held have been smothered in the quest for riches that line pockets rather than minds. That's probably an opinion that puts me in the teeny, tiny minority here and elsewhere, but that's o.k. with me. I can't even watch anymore. I do wish they'd find something for Dan, I really do.
