Another Sterling Hallmark Mystery

I ended up buying a small pile of silver last Friday and included in the lot was a Sterling/Marcasite ring that was Hallmarked, other then 925.

Does anybody recognize the mark? I've done some looking and have come up short. Nothing on 925 hallmarks.com and a google search is just a rabbit hole

It appears to be a JP. but possibly it's something else?

I think i saw that particular stamp/ring in my search but it looked too heavy regarding the font size. The lack of a period was also suspect but i guess that will require a further investigation to make a decision on. I know that some artists/company hallmarks change over time but to what extent?
 

According to Rezazadah's book, Collectible Silver Jewelry Identification and Price Guide, the mark is that of the Pacific Jewelry Manufacturing Co., based in California. Their jewelry designs were produced in the 1960's to early 1970's, and most were high-quality pieces.
