Another successful CRHing Thursday

I've been doing quite well on Thursday's lately searching different banks for loose and cwr halves and today was quite good as well. One bank in particular I've had good success with the last 4 times I've been there - and today was my best day yet from that bank. Here's what I've found from my last 4 visits to this particular bank:

9/08/11:
2 rolls of cwr halves: 3 x '64

9/29/11:
$6 in big dollar coins: all clad Ike's
$.50 in halves: 1 x '64 (100% success)

10/06/11:
3 rolls of cwr halves: one solid roll (20 coins) of all '68D

10/13/11 (today):
$51.50 in loose and cwr halves: 42 x '65-'69' (40%ers)

I also scored at 3 other banks today:

One bank had $.50 in halves: 1 x '67 (100% success)

Another bank had $3.00 in halves: 2 x '64, 2 x '67, 1 x '68D (nearly 100% success)

And I got a red seal $5 bill from another bank but unfortunately it's in rather worn condition. I also got 2 red seal $2 bills from 2 other banks earlier this week.

I also got about another $19-$20 in clad halves from 2 other banks today so I figured I searched a total of about $75 in halves today and scored a total of 2 x '64 (90%ers) & 46 x 40%ers.

That's how I like to CRH half dollars - a lot of finds without a lot of searching & dumping. That's what I like about searching loose and cwr half dollars - my success rate is so high. Of course if I could have this kind of success with all my half dollar searches I'd search as much as I could. But I doubt I could ever have the same long-term success rate searching boxes & bags of half dollars as I do searching loose and cwr halves. But then I can't search as much just searching loose and cwr's as I can searching boxes so I suppose the best thing to do is do both.

Finding silver @ face is oooh so great!

Wow, nice. Congrats! My hitting rate for over-the-counter silver is .000 I guess boxes are the way to go for me.

To be honest that is the way the hobby is heading, at least for halves, is you have to hit the small volume teller trays, the boxes simply aren't producing enough. Dimes, Nickels and Pennies on the other hand you're best to do volume.
