Found this at our site that's given up so many military buttons and early relics. This is about the 7th one I've found but this is the first one that wasn't smashed. Also found this bullet. Fits nicely in the cartridge so I assume it is what was fired from these teat fires. Thanks for looking and good luck diggin!

Thanks vanzutphin! We had no idea what they were when we first started finding them. Thanks to fellow t-net members we were informed as to what they really were (funny thing is we called them "teat lookin things" and it turned out we weren't far off what they're actually called! ). Thanks again for your reply

Very nice piece to add to the CW collection.

Very nice Darby! Congrats on the find. Good luck out there brother!

Never seen this type before. You'll learn something new every day. Cool find! Do you know how long these ammo was produced? I imagine pulling the cartridge after firing could be a difficult task...

Thanks Davers and Carolina Tom. Appreciate the replies! Also thanks Westfront. I think these were produced in the 1860's to get around Smith and Wessons rim fire patent. There are several articles online concerning them. Never heard of them until a fellow tnet member Id'ed them for me. We thought they were decorations from a lamp or something!! Great resource here on tnet for uneducated relic Hunters like myself!

Nice digs, I only could hope to find one someday.

Thanks Trezurehunter and I-Dig-It. Appreciate your comments.
