My brother and I set out today on a quest to find 59 coins, enough to get us to 1000 on the year. Weve been detecting since april, but didnt do much in june, and in general havent gotten out as much as we'd like to. Anyways this is our first serious year of metal detecting and 1000 was a big number for us. Anyways it took us 3 hours and 20 minutes but we endured the heat and came away with 3 quarters, 2 nickels, 10 dimes, and 44 pennies, 2 are canadian, and 1 is a wheat. This is also my 4th consecutive hunt in which I found a wheat which is cool. But anways here is is, the wheats date is hard to read but it has an S mintmark, and call me crazy but it kind of looks like a 1909 S. Well any input is much appreciated. As always happy hunting

Congrats on the 1000 coin mark...passed mine the first year I hunted...hope your penny is a 1909-s vdb...it would be worth mucho dinero....way to go on sticking with the 1000 coin mark....now you can set your sights on the 5000 and 10,000 coin mark....sounds like a long way to go but the way you are going you will reach it in no time.... :D
