Ground Radar is supposed to find voids in the ground, but I hear they are expensive. So it depends on what is in the cave besides bat dug.

Go early on a frosty morning and look for steam rising from the ground or a melted patch if snowy. siegfried schlagrule

Here in North Georgia their are alot of old mines that are sluffed in over the years. Here they are filled with dirt, branches, leaves and so on. I have a small headed shovel that I carry sometimes. I know that when you hit it on the ground you get a nice hollow sound, unlike the clay that surrounds it. Also a broom handle or an old fishing rod with the eyes off of it might work as a probe.

HI: Most twin box detectors will find it by the difference in the ground matrix. they have clear instructions on how to do this. Go read the operating specifications on them at their dealers sites. for exampl;e -->

sit at the spot in question at sundown, and watch the bats fly out out of your cave.
works every time.

This is easy.... Just walk around stomping your feet everywhere you can and when you fall in..... There's your cave !!!!!

Ah, but will I then have wireless to ask you how I should get out of this d@mn hole?

The frost idea would work or you could go one step farther and get a long range laser thermometer. Wait till just after dark when the air cools and search for warm spots on the mountain side

Use a laser thermometer. You don't have to wait till dark. The cave will be cooler than the surrounding mountainside.

Just go to a spot when it is hottest, and start shooting the side of the mountain. When you get a spot that is MUCH cooler than everything around it.......BAM!
