Any idea in this piece?

It seems to be made of real thin copper. One side looks like a compass. The other side looks like a ship with sails, sailing with the sun in the background. The two pieces came apart after I found it. It seems to have slipped over something, like some sort of decoration. Whatever it went on was only about 1/2" thick. Thank you.
