I found this at a shipwreck site. For deducing what it could be, the wreck is probably from the 1600's. It is offshore, and from time to time I search the beach (searching in the water is not legal nor permitted by anyone at this time) and this time around (first time in about 5 years. And it is private land on the beach where I have sole permission, so no one else has been there in the past five years since I was there

. Including a few hurricanes that went through) I found some pewter, a 3 foot deck spike, some random iron, and this. This thing is iron. It is about 10 inches round, perfectly round, and about 1 inch think. Pretty heavy. I have not soaked it yet to get it back to the iron and get some of the gunk off, but I'm perplexed as to what it might be on a ship from that old of a period. Any ideas???
